So, you’re tying the knot. Congratulations! But, as great as that is, you now have the challenge of figuring out what the heck to wear. Wedding dress code has gotten pretty lax and more creative over the years, so outfitting yourself—and your groomsmen—for the big day isn’t as easy as renting a black tux and patent leather shoes.
Suits are now the norm, as are colored tuxedo shirts, and khaki is cool even if it’s winter. "There’s not really anything that a groom or a groomsman can’t wear, but it’s all about doing it right,” explains Nick Moore, Jerry Ryan’s wedding outfitter. "I’ve helped guys with everything from traditional black tie to informal hipster khakis with button-down shirts and suspenders. "If you are going to go outside the lines, you just have to know the tricks,” he adds.
For instance, Nick advises, if you are going to wear a suit, elevate it with accessories like a pocket square and cufflinks, and make sure the fit of your suit is impeccable. "You want to look like you’re getting married, not going on a job interview,” he says.
Nick also highly encourages buying rather than renting a tuxedo. "If you buy it, you can have it tailored just for you and then you have it for a lifetime. Even if you only wear it two more times, you’ve made a worthwhile investment.”
He quickly urges guys not to fear price when considering buying a suit or tuxedo. Jerry Ryan has a reputation for outfitting entire wedding parties affordably, without skimping on quality. "We do a lot of weddings. Guys come here because they know they can get a great looking suit or tux and not have to break the bank.”
So, you heard him, gents. If you’re getting married, go to Jerry Ryan for your sartorial needs. From color to collar, the guys at Jerry Ryan will have you walking down the aisle in style.
